Mumbai Customs celebrates 55 Years of Indian Customs Act
To celebrate 55 years of the enactment of the Customs Act 1962, Mumbai Customs organised a session to get views on the way forward for customs policy.
Manish Biala was invited for a discussion on the panel, ‘Enforcement vs Facilitation: Balancing the tight rope’.
A significant theme that emerged from the panel was the importance of governance and ensuring compliance with Indian laws. Stressed further was a zero-tolerance policy for smuggling and counterfeiting – a step necessary for protecting the interests of the public.
